CosTumE DESIGN

Throughout my time at Colorado Mesa University, and Moss Performing Arts Center, I have worked on many shows, and I’ve even gotten to design for a few. First was an assistant designer role for Godspell, written by John-Micheal Tebelak. However for my first official costume designer role I got the opportunity to design for one of our two spring festival productions. Exit, Pursued by a Bear, written by Lauren Gunderson.

This being my first costume design had me excited because I absoulutley love Lauren Gunderson’s work. To read more about my work for this production, as well as a look into my creative process feel free to check out my page dedicated to the design.

My other notable works in costuming would be during my costuming apprenticeship with Theatre SilCo (Previously the Lake Dillon Theatre). During the production of Half Life of Marie Curie also written by Lauren Gunderson. During the time leading into this show I was mostly a stitcher, but I was assigned one of the dresses all to myself. Meaning from beginning to end I was the only one putting this dress together. As we were all on a time crunch I gladly took on the responsibility of putting together Hertha’s Dress. I also have a page dedicated to this dress, and what all went into the patterning, the mock-up, and the ultimate assembly of the dress.
