Illustration
My work in illustration varies from many different areas in the realm of graphic design. From vector illustration to physical mediums, technical to fantasy. Along with the excellent teaching I received my work had evolved where I started. I have a number of projects that I often post on my artist Instagram page.
I had always been interested in illustration even when it was something small and seemingly meaningless. A doodle could turn in to a character, and that character could go and inspire a whole story, and just like that one small creative idea becomes many more over time. My first big illustration was in elementary school when I made a picture using KidsPix (if anyone still remembers that).
This picture got chosen to go on our fun run fundraiser t-shirts. That sparked my creative life as I continued to be drawn into our art classes. All the way into high-school I was always inspired to keep being creative. I even made the design for my class t-shirt in college prep. To add I have had a few of these illustrations make it into my local art center runway galleries.
Mire Conceptualization-
This project required the creation or discovery of a natural mire. We then study this mire to find a figure or subject using our own instincts to create something from nothing. From there we then render in our interpretations, and create the subject we get from the mire. That rendering is then pushed further to eliminate the mire and make our own background and color and shade everything to bring the vision to life through digital painting.
Scientific illustration-
In this project we were tasked with creature creation as well as given the lens of scientific thinking to take our creature and render then as if they were real and now part of our metaphorical field-guide.
Digital Pattern Making-
This time, we made repeating patterns and then added them to our own RedBubble or Society6 pages as a means of creating a marketable pattern fit for textiles and other means of printed media.

Book Covers-
This assignment was simple, but instead of taking something existing we were allowed to conceptualize our own story to make a book cover for, as long as it was some sort of a thriller.

Technical Illustration-
For this assignment we were to take an object with 20 or more pieces and illustrate a technical manual for how to put it together.

Simulated Pencil and Paper-
For this project we took a step towards scientific rendering as a mean to practice emulating the appearance of graphite scratched off on paper. I also used this project as a chance to emulate the styling of Franz Mucha as you can see with the fillegery and the laying of the hair.
Creature Fusion-
This project was my final for my digital painting class, in which I fused a badger and a bear, and then used Photoshop to render in then paint in my creation.
Marketable Designs-
For these two designs we had to make a patterned graphic and an illustration with a target market in mind and then put them on a product to then advertise ourselves.

Clusters-
In this project we created a bunch of characters and put them into a single frame to give the sense of claustrophobia amongst the characters while still telling a sort story.

Lineart/ Coloringsheets-
This section stemmed from on project where we were tasked to create line-art that wasn’t meant to be finished digitally, but could still hold up as its own black and white image.
From there I took on my own challenge during the october art challenge with a name we do not mention, and created a series of coloring sheets free for anyone to download and have fun with.
